Happy Little Accidents, the Fox, the Eagle and the Latchkey Kid

So, my family likes to go on adventures at least, once or twice a year. Usually the wilderness kind because, well for many reasons! One, I never had these types of family vacations or outings so, I want my son to have what I didn’t get. I don’t remember one time my father taking me to go anywhere. He was too busy with his own life to give a care about his only child. Two, it is so good for the mind to just get away! Just to get away could do anyone a bit of good. So, like the old saying goes, “A day in the country is worth a month in the city.” In other words, one day in the country is so healthy for you!

I made some mistakes on the way though. I wanted to see the Moonbow in Cumberland Falls. But, I got a cabin that was 1.5 hours away from the Moonbow. I was at Lake Cumberland! There is a difference and somehow I could not see it! But, this was Happy Accident #1! The cabin was awesome!

I got to do some major time with the Lord on that back porch with Bible Art Journalling and worshiping with my Ukele! Me and my new fur friend named Sylvester.

Sylvester, the local celebrity here at Cabin on the Hill.

The cabin was lovely and it had a sauna!

Oh yeah! It was a very nice place.

My hubby, watching Food Network and practicing his bass.

I loved worshiping the Lord here on the back porch. I love my sacred space—> I will need this when I get back home.

    Sylvester and my sacred space.

The other happy accident was being 10 Minutes from Jamestown which we suddenly realized we’ve been there before on one of my hubby’s gigs! So, not only were we creating memories but we remembered old ones. Blessed a few people on the way!

Free water taxis! And good food!

Now here is where it got weird. I didn’t get any pictures here because we were running late and I could not bring my phone in the water raft. But, our original intention was to white water raft and see the Moonbow. There are only a few Moonbows in the world and right here in Kentucky we have one. Africa has one somewhere. But before our day trip to Cumberland Falls we notice a time change right before we hit Russell Springs where we stayed. I, googled what time is Lake Cumberland falls Eastern or Central. Well, just so you know, Google is a liar! I am a dummy for listening to it! So, we were late for our white water rafting trip!

Then there was a fox incident! Ugh! If I was smart enough to a) not trust Google, b) call those people myself, c) know to pray to God before I before I make any executive decisions I could possibly avoid accidents like this… Not a happy accident…. Because I killed an old fox that either a) could only see a varmint, but it was weird so I half wonder if b) this was enemy trying to ruin our day, because before we collided there was miles of no cars around. Why wait till a bunch of cars came? Just weird. Anyways, he had to die instantly and I prayed he was comforted by the Holy Spirit till he passed just in case. This is what happened to my vehicle.

So, Google lied and then the fox. I prayed that this would not ruin our day and it did not!

There was a neat part to this and that was the Eagle—> Now the guide said, “She never saw an Eagle do this before but this guy led the way through all the rocky parts but that’s not all. I had to borrow the following image:

A Eagle dove into the water and the water splashed like it was a small geyser. Then the Eagle swam with a fish in it’s mouth till it reached some rocks and then climbed up and flew away with lunch. Never saw anything like that before!

I was telling a friend of mine and she had this profound thought or questions….

I’d say He answered prayers for sure😀. Maybe you had to say goodbye to the fox to get the Eagle?! I’d ask God if there is a meaning there?

Well, when it comes to meaning let’s explore scripture—>

Catch the foxes for us, the little foxes that spoil the vineyards, for our vineyards are in blossom.” My beloved is mine, and I am his; he grazes among the lilies. Until the day breathes and the shadows flee, turn, my beloved, be like a gazelle or a young stag on cleft mountains. Song of Solomon 2:15-17

    Here’s another scripture —>

And he said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I finish my course. Luke 13:32

The first scripture describes foxes as destructive little creatures and could destroy vineyards. With that being mentioned in the Song of Solomon that fox easily represents a ruin of a beautiful relationship as the fox is cunning destructive yet cute lil critters. Then in Luke—> “Go and tell that fox.” Jesus is using a descriptive to describe someone as being deceptive and cunning.

In my case scenario, my Kia Soul collided with a fox. Who had plenty of chances to cross the highway before I even got there but waited to collide when several vehicles were driving by. Mine being struck. Then there is the Eagle that just led the way…. The guide said, “Yes, this never has happed to her before.” So, what does the Eagle represent in the Bible.

    Quoting several sites:

In Christian art, the eagle often represents the resurrection of Christ because the sight of an eagle rising in flight is a powerful one.

Another site: Eagles have always symbolized freedom, strength, and power.

“There are three things that amaze me— no, four things that I don’t understand: how an eagle glides through the sky, how a snake slithers on a rock, how a ship navigates the ocean, how a man loves a woman.”‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭30:18-19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Now looking at all that I believe that God can turn a mistake, wrong choices and accidents into something beautiful. Like I say, “Happy Accidents Happen!” And one day when many of us mature and let go of our orphan spirit and we will start recognizing WE ARE NOT A MISTAKE!

“God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children.”
    ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭4:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I think because of who I come from, the mental abuse and the craziness that I used to be, the series of bad choices, the destructiveness of my own self that I am not good enough. Yet, God is constantly doing this work in me. Constantly encouraging me. Constantly speaking His truths into me. Constantly. He doesn’t stop. He will use words like, “I am with you. You are my girl. You are my friend. I love her.” These phrases just pop up in my head at random times. I realized some time ago that this is God communing with me. It happens a lot during worship and He will say things like I am with you and you are my daughter and I would praise him further like, “Thank you Lord for adopting me into Your family.”

This is what real dad’s do and you can have a real dad too. Amen!

So, what does this all mean to me, personally. Well, as I was driving down God showed me being plucked out of danger. That before Jesus I was self-destructive. This is kinda a thing for some of us latchkey kids is the lack of nurture. He plucked me out of Satan’s hands. I still suffer from the Orphan spirit though at time. I really need to take this adoption thing seriously. Especially if I want to be totally acclimated as a daughter of the King of the Universe. Then at the end of this little rocky journey that God is guiding me through then I will become a fisherman. Plunging at great depths that you see a geyser ad I pledge! That’s what I am doing latchkey kid! I want you to know, you aren’t alone.

Well, I didn’t mean this to be my first post for my Supernatural Ways of a Latchkey Kid but it is! I hope it blessed you! ❤️
