Why do they call it latchkey kid?
Although the term “latchkey kid” first appeared in the 1940s to describe young children taking care of themselves after school while dad fought in the war and mom went off to work, the anxiety over latchkey kids really exploded in the United States in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Now, I am aware that this has been a significant issue, and I recently consulted with a certified mental health expert who confirmed that she is familiar with patients and studies that corroborate the trauma associated with being a latchkey kid. In my opinion, based on personal experience, these children are often left to their own devices, lacking the nurturing they would have received from a stay-at-home parent. Most parents return home exhausted from work, seeking personal time to relax, while their child craves attention and affection from a mother or father. This vulnerability can render the child susceptible to suggestion.
I am now examining this from a spiritual perspective, having experienced numerous events in both the 3D and 5D realms. As an infant, my mother observed that I would physically freeze in the presence of troublesome individuals, as I could sense their negativity. Furthermore, during my childhood, I distinctly saw demons and angels in the countryside. Unfortunately, I had no one to confide in about these experiences, and when I attempted to discuss them, I was dismissed with the statement, ‘It’s just your imagination, Tina.’ This response ultimately stifled my gifts as I matured, yet I remain convinced of what I witnessed.
Also, spending excessive time speculating about adults’ motivations can be counterproductive. Notwithstanding, my mother’s interest in the supernatural was apparent. Her affinity for New Age ideologies resulted in my involvement in difficult situations. Adults often misjudge children’s intellectual capacities. However, I would like to assure younger individuals that their cognitive abilities are recognized and valued by a higher power, regardless of its nature. It is vital to make informed decisions.
Let’s discuss Halloween. Our culture is becoming increasingly darker, and it seems that there is no opposing force to counterbalance it. Previously, there was a figure named Anton LeVey, whose book, The Satanic Bible, I read. Upon reading it, prior to my Christian faith, I found the content to be utterly nonsensical. It is surprising that I did not become drawn into it. I read the book because my mother, who I now believe was indoctrinated by her college experiences in the 1960s, influenced me. Her college education exposed her to a particular worldview that led to her being misled. Like many individuals, she was susceptible to believing anything presented to her.
She had a book at home that she read out of curiosity and left lying around for anyone to see. I also read it out of curiosity, and, as a non-Christian at the time, I could have been easily misled. However, I found the author’s ideas to be absurd. Nevertheless, there are individuals who take his ideas seriously, becoming deceived and misled. Other authors have profited from his ideas, portraying him as an authority and perpetuating the notion that Halloween is evil, thereby granting him undue influence.
Anyway, this is not the context of what a moron Anton LeVey is, and that you have to be an even bigger moron to believe in this guy. The context is that we give people more credit than they deserve. We give demons more credit than they deserve. Let’s look at Satan; he was an angel at one time. He was very beautiful, an incredible singer, and in scripture, he is called the “Prince of the Air.” Given my understanding of air symbology as communication, based on research, when I hear that, it suggests to me that Satan can exert influence over individuals through communications.
Ephesians 2:2 — (NIV)2
in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.
The phrase “god of this world” (or “god of this age”) indicates that Satan is the major influence on the ideals, opinions, goals, hopes and views of the majority of people. His influence also encompasses the world’s philosophies, education, and commerce. The thoughts, ideas, speculations and false religions of the world are under his control and have sprung from his lies and deceptions.

Now Anton LeVey is a master baiter, a manipulator, like his father the devil. His capabilities are limited to the power of suggestions. The rest is up to those who listen to him and any attachments that belong to them. Those attachments will convince you to open the door to your heart if you listen to them. Now, you have a choice; do you listen to Satan or do you listen to Jesus?
Personally, I prefer Jesus because He consistently uplifts me, repairs the damage inflicted upon me, and offers encouragement. I prefer to listen to His words rather than the strategic lies others try to instill. Ultimately, the choice is yours.
I reject the idea of granting authority to a fraud like LeVey over any day. Satan is undeserving of a day. He does not warrant a day, a season, or a number. All belongs to Jesus. Meanwhile, some individuals harbor an intuitive feeling that Halloween belongs to the devil. There is a prevailing belief that around October 31st, an interdimensional transition occurs, enabling the living to connect with the deceased. They believed the veil between the two realms was most transparent, facilitating the return of the spirits of the deceased to earth.
Certain Pagan and Christian traditions pay tribute to deceased loved ones, drawing parallels between harvest season and death, and the pain of missing loved ones.
The celebration of Halloween has undergone significant changes due to Hollywood’s influence. Nevertheless, a substantial issue arises from the potential manipulation by malevolent forces, particularly given the industry’s impact. Consequently, Halloween has transformed into a darker and more malevolent celebration, with certain costumes featuring demonic representations. I once saw an animatronic display in my neighborhood, which has not been displayed since. It is possible that it was damaged or perhaps my prayers had an impact. I distinctly recall feeling a sense of spell-casting emanating from the audio of the Halloween animatronic. In response, I prayed, and the atmosphere shifted, indicating a spiritual battle. Ultimately, I sensed a feeling of joy. I continued to pray over the animatronic and the neighborhood.
Now, some Christians argue that celebrating Halloween opens the door to negative influences. I partially agree with this perspective, as there are many impressionable individuals who may be susceptible to these influences. However, I also disagree because I believe that Christians should actively engage with their communities and pray for their neighborhoods. If you are particularly vulnerable to suggestive influences, it may be wise to exercise caution and prioritize your spiritual well-being.
This year, I am trying something new. I have created personalized labels to hand out with candy and I am sharing them with you. I accessed free online resources and edited them in Adobe Illustrator, adding custom elements, text, and a blank space for a church to include a message or website. Take a look…

When He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones come to life?” “O Lord GOD,” I replied, “only You know.” 4 And He said to me, “Prophesy concerning these bones and tell them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! 5 This is what the Lord GOD says to these bones: I will cause breath to enter you, and you will come to life.…

Conclusion:
It is my conviction that listening to the Holy Spirit is crucial. If He is cautioning against participating in Halloween, it may be for your protection. On the other hand, if He is prompting you to go out and pray over the neighborhood, you should act accordingly. Nevertheless, it is vital to acknowledge that human beings do not possess the same authority as our Heavenly Father, unless we choose to empower them. Our Heavenly Father takes precedence over worldly concerns. This is an unshakeable truth.
